About Mrs. Maidens
I am so excited to be working with you and your child this year! I first began my teaching career in first grade. After a few years in first, I moved on to 2nd, 4th, and most recently 3rd grade. I am also the GATE Coordinator for Grace Miller. I work with the 4th and 5th grade GATE students at least once a month.
I have taught in Azusa USD, Covina-Valley USD, and Bonita USD. I am a former Grace Miller student, my family moved to La Verne when I was 5. I continued on to Ramona, Bonita High School, Mt. SAC, and got my BA and Master’s Degree at the University of La Verne.
My husband and I have been married 20 years. He is a Lead Motorcycle Technician. We have two boys who also attended Grace Miller and Ramona. They are now at Bonita High School. One is a freshman (he participates in chorus and drumline) and one is a senior (he is a die-hard swimmer). Our other family member is a spazzy chocolate lab named Eddie.
I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, taking pictures, going to Big Bear, watching my eldest son swim and my youngest son perform in chorus and band.
I learn a lot from my own children and believe they help make me a better teacher. I look forward to working with both my students and their families this year.
I am very excited to be teaching 1st grade again!
